We had a fantastic stay. The location is very handy for visiting Rome and nearby towns like Tivoli and Ostia Antica. It's also well located for trips northwards into Umbria. The room was beautiful with a high ceiling and wooden beams. It had a small balcony too. Indeed the whole building is old and tastefully maintained. Maria, who manages the guest house, is a really lovely lady. She prepares a wonderful breakfast with fried eggs and tomatoes available on request. Breakfasts cost 10 euros per head and are served on a rooftop terrace with views over Formello. At the start of the stay there were a couple of issues with the bathroom but they were quickly resolved. The only negative is the limited and slightly awkward parking spaces at the front of the building. You have to negotiate a narrow ramp to reach them, so I'd recommend hiring a small car if you want to minimise any risk of scratches.

After walking many kilometres and staying in cold comfort ospitali and dodgy albergos, I thought I had arrived in heaven when the door opened here. A warm greeting from the gorgeous Maria, beautifully decorated interior, a wonderful bedroom with everything you could want and, to cap it all off, a rooftop terrace with panoramic views and a brilliant restaurant. The owner (whose name I have rather ungraciously forgotten) has renovated the building to the highest standard, decorated it beautifully and is also a wonderful host, informative and helpful. I wasn't given a room key (don't worry, they do have them) but didn't bother asking for one as I felt so at home. Sure, it's a bit more expensive than your average B&B but it is not your average B&B by any means. The only down side was leaving.||Martin B||Australia

When we stayed at the hotel, there was a big ceramic vase on the top floor, in the middle of the way. I bumped into it by accident, almost falling down myself, I managed to catch it but it had a lid that flew down the stairs and broke into pieces.
The owner of the hotel Maria Los Angelis demanded 400€ (!!!) for the lid, instead of apologizing. I could have injured myself, or trip down the stairs as a result of bumping into the vase.
When we paid her the money, we accidently gave her 600€, because the bills had stuck together.
She called us later on, telling us we paid more, so we gave her our bank accont details so she could transfer the money. She didn't send us the money, and since then we haven't heard from her, she didn't respond to any of our messages/E-mails.
It's been over a month, no reply.
Apparently money is more important to her than integrity.

(Pilgrims on the Via Francigena) Nice place. but overpriced; every place in town was full after one of our reservations was cancelled, and the owner here exploited that, charging us more than normal—and she said we would get a suite, which it was not. Avoid.

The rooms are superb and beautifully decorated..A true gem in the centre of Formello.This B and B has recently opened after extensive restoration of a beautiful family home.Flat screen TV and music in the shower make this a world class establishment in a real historic village.Highly recommended.
