When I arrive the hotel there’s no one here, not a single person here for my check-in. Waited for 30 mins until I saw one person appear, and then waited another 10 mins for him to ask the manager to come out to do the check in for me.

Also note that there’s no lift in the hotel

The lady manager is super impolite. Although the room is nice, restaurant service and food is good. But the lady manager is very rude and that’s why I have also told my cousins to cancel their stay here for December.

Booked for 3 nights during August and was disappointed for what is a “4-star hotel”.

Positives:
- big modern rooms with a nice view
- Nice old style building
- good breakfast

Negatives:
- No spa/ fitness centre as advertised on booking.com, when we asked about the spa we were told it was a random 3rd party who comes into the room and is subject to his availability
- Pool is a 5 minute walk away and next to a construction site.
- Windows without curtains, which during summer months means no sleep-ins
- sheep heard next to building so balcony smells like poo if the wind blows the wrong way
- Villandro is far away from a lot of what the Dolomites has to offer,
- Unfriendly experience with management after discussing some of the above, borderline hostile.

In hindsight I should’ve booked a room in Ortsei or cortina d’ampezzo and I would recommend my own friends and family do the same if they are coming to northern Italy.

Words cannot describe how much we loved our 4 night stay in this superbly renovated 700 year old castle. Elisabeth and her wonderful team went out of their way to make our stay special. Each morning Elisabeth would help us with our plan for the day and because of this we saw the most spectacular parts of this beautiful region.|Breakfast was exceptional as was dinner in the restaurant.|Pre dinner drinks outside in the beautiful courtyard with the mountains as backdrop was also very special.|A nearby pool and sauna in a picturesque setting were also available, a wonderful treat after a warm day of exploring!|Thank you Elisabeth, Peter and I will definitely be back.

Fantastic experience staying here for one night with three of our children. One night was too short, we are already planning a return trip. It was a beautiful drive to reach the hotel. Before dinner we all jumped in the pool then enjoyed the sauna with the provided bathrobes and slippers. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, and reception was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Give them a call for recommendations before your stay. Lovely details like fresh flowers & fruit, a large minibar with an impressive assortment of tea, and a yoga mat in the room really made the hotel stand out.

Very nice hotel with beautiful rooms. For our dinner we enjoyed a delicious 6 course meal at "la Lumosa". The service was very professional and friendly. The food was really delicious, innovative and well worth the price.

Our stay at Ansitz Steinbock was superb because Elisabeth guided us on our journey through the Dolomites. Her recommendations for sights and restaurants were excellent . The hotels is wonderfully appointed and the views breathtaking. I would highly recommend this Hotel to anyone coming to the Dolomites. We so enjoyed our stay at this beautiful and cosy hotel. |Elisabeth and her staff take great care of their guests. Fine wines, great food, eye for detail, friendly atmosphere and excellent service !|We stayed one week in the Neuhaus suite and one extra night in the Ernst Loesch suite. Both beautiful. We will go back in the future.
